What Is RRSP

RRSP stands for Registered Retirement Saving plan, which is actually an official trust run by the Canadian revenue Agency to provide savings for retired citizens. RRSP can be obtained in the form of stocks and mutual funds or even in the form of mortgage equity. One of the best benefits with this saving plan is the ability of a person to save tax amount based on the contribution income that is invested in the RRSP account. This can be understood clearly with a simple example; if an average worker gets a RRSP plan from an early time period, he/she would have to pay a certain income amount as deposited contribution. Now if the person pays an average of $200 monthly from his income, then the tax due on that amount (say 40%) would not be deducted and the person ends up saving the tax value too. The more money he puts in, the more he saves on taxes.
